Day 1 – May 15, Sunday: Bienvenue to the Côte d’Azur

From the Nice airport , you’ll be transferred for a 7-night stay at a 4-star boutique hotel with a contemporary design in the historic center of Nice. One of the first seaside hotels in Nice it was a favorite of artists and intellectuals such as Matisse, Fitzgerald, Nietzsche or Chekhov. To begin your adventure, Eva our fashionista, will meet and greet you  on the hotel patio for a cocktail with a special guest who will train us on ‘The art of the scarf – the French flair of tying and wearing scarves’. Your shopping begins as we will have a selection of scarves from exclusively French designers available to purchase.  You can flaunt your new tying technique at the welcome dinner on the terrace of the hotel’s seaside restaurant, where you are sure to fall in love with the Côte d’Azur.

Day 2 – May 16, Monday: Nice and Château winetasting

After a quick typical French ‘petit déjeuner’ at the hotel, it will be time to begin exploring Nice starting with a stroll along the famous Promenade des Anglais and then into the maze of narrow streets in the captivating old town. Every Monday, the Cours Saleya holds its buzzy vintage market, where you will have time to browse and find a selection of quintessential French espadrilles and bags essential to complete your Riviera look.

Lunch will be in the heart of the historical center at a typical niçois restaurant.
After lunch, you will be taken to Chateau, one of the leading wineries of the area for a tour topped off with a wine and shoe pairing experience followed by more wining and dining at the cosy Les Sens.

Day 3 – May 17, Tuesday: Monaco and St Jean de Cap Ferrat

We will be off to the glamorous principality of Monaco! On the way we will stop for a tour at Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild. An architectural and artistic gem, the Belle Époque palace and its remarkable gardens is situated on the promontory of St John Cap Ferrat, home of the mega-rich.

We will arrive in Monaco just in time for the changing of the guards followed by a lunch at the trendy Starsnbars.

In the afternoon, you will be personally greeted in shops we have pre selected where you will indulge in the best shopping Monaco has to offer. More delicious wines will follow for your dinner at a truffle based restaurant in Nice.

Day 4 – May 18, Wednesday: Nice

Today get ready to shop until you drop! We will spend a full day in Nice shopping off-the-beaten-path at chic boutiques frequented by locals and our favorite luxury consignment shops where you will have private time to shop with a coupe de champagne, of course. Lunch will be on your own, but something special is in store for the evening. Time for a cocktail and the elegant and cosmopolitan bar at the renowned Negresco hotel followed by diner at their hotspot carrousel restaurant. Giving you a chance to show off your fashion scores from the day!

Day 5 – May 19, Thursday: Grasse & St Paul de Vence

Today is all about one of the most important accessories for French women….the invisible accessory, perfume! We will be driven into the hills above the Riviera to Grasse, for centuries the capital of French perfume making, for a perfume making workshop at the Fragonard Parfumery, family-run for four generations. Your perfume master will guide you to composing and personalizing your Eau de Cologne which you will be able to take home in a lovely pouch.

After the workshop we’ll take the picturesque road to the medieval village of Saint Paul de Vence for lunch where the rich and famous gather at La Colombe d’Or. After lunch, you’ll strolling the up market shops and galleries followed by a tour of the private Maeght Foundation where you will be enthralled by France’s most important art foundation and among the world’s leading cultural institutions featuring works by Miro, Chagall, Giacometti Oh la la ! Diner will be at the cosy French bistrot.

Day 6 – May 20, Friday: A dash of Italy & Eze

We will be off early today to shop at the lively outdoor market in Ventimiglia, Italy. Featuring miles of purses, clothing, scarves, cashmere, shoes, and tablecloths as well as Italian products, such as meats, cheeses, dried tomatoes, pasta, and jams and jellies. Many of the vendors offer samples of their wares. You’ll have free time for lunch in pizza and pasta heaven.

Along the breathtaking route on the way back to Nice, a stop will be made for you to venture to the hilltop village of Eze. In this 11th century town, you will discover one of the most stunning panoramic views of the French Riviera and designs inspired by the south of France and its Dolce Vita. Dinner will be at a confidential niçois restaurant.

Day 7 – May 21, Saturday: Make up and photo shoot 

For the final of your epic French fashion tour, there will be a workshop at the hotel there will be a workshop at the hotel with a French make-up artist who will demonstrate some of the secret French womens’ make-up tips  and work with you one on one to pull together your new glamorous “south of France” inspired look. Afterwards, get ready to blow up your Instagram as we have planned a photo shoot at iconic and scenic spots around the city with a spectacular farewell dinner in true Rivera style with drinks and dinner at a trendy rooftop restaurant-club.

Day 8 – May 22, Sunday: Au revoir

Time for your last croissant and café au lait on the Côte d’Azur. Check out and transfers to Nice airport.

Her long-time career as a makeup artist, product developer and executive in the prestige spa and beauty industry has given her the flair and glamour to pull everything together while having so much fun.



To secure a place on the tour, we ask that you fill in our reservation form which indicates that your deposit of 30% will be required. The balance will be due 2 months prior to the tour. Invoices are in euros, we accept all credit cards including  American Express  most luxury prestigious stores accept global blue tax refunds. Amex is not accepted in a lot of shops.

Cancellation Policy

This is a package  group tour and non-refundable with no refunds even in case of injury or illness or personal emergency. Cancellation must be notified by email to nancy@absolutelysouthernfrance.com.

We highly recommend that you purchase travel insurance including medical assistance and cancellation. If insufficient numbers of participants register for the tour  or in the event of conditions deemed unsafe for our clients, the tour may be cancelled or postponed.

Arrival and Departure

You will be welcomed on arrival by Eva for a briefing cocktail and welcome dinner. Your airport transfers on day of arrival and departure are included.

What to Pack

Please wear comfortable walking shoes as you will be at times, walking on cobblestones and uneven sidewalks, sometimes for more than an hour. Don’t forget your phone charger and a plug adapter. For your last evening in Nice, make sure to pack some fancy clothes to dazzle on your last night at a rooftop restaurant.

Physical Requirements

Our tour is “physically active.” You may be on your feet, walking and standing, for over an hour indoors and outdoors, rain or shine. That means if you need help climbing in a tour bus or if you are winded after walking 50 feet, we have other tours for you to join.


You are staying in a   four-star boutique hotel in historical Nice.


The average temperature in Nice for the month of May is approximately 77°F. Make sure you bring your sunscreen and a hat !


You will be travelling in a comfortable air-conditioned coach driven by a professional driver.

Absolutely Southern France is based in France so prices are quoted and invoiced in euros.
Payment is made by credit/debit card. The invoice is issued by email containing a link to proceed with secure payment using your card.


We do not make flight arrangements but provide airport transfers for arrival and departure on French soil.


Your passport must be valid for at least six months prior to departure date.
